Practice your crystal meditation( from the last post)too !

I will post pictures soon………

(You can read this meditation into a recorder App on your tablet or phone and then play it as you relax)

Relax your body on the earth. Relax your feet, close to the earth. Relax your legs, relax your arms and let them pour restfully on the earth. Relax your spine and back.Relax the back of the head, relax the face and eyes. Relax the crown.

Now imagine a wave of golden sunlight pouring from above into your crystal, which is above your head.Pull that warm light into your crown. Bathe in that light. Inhale and exhale.

Feel that light pouring into your forehead.Bathe your forehead in that light. Inhale and exhale.

Now the back of your head. Imagine that sunlight pouring through the crystal into the crown and now bathing the back of the head. Relax. Breathe in, exhale out.

The warm sunlight now pours from the sky above and down into the throat. Bathe your throat in warm, golden light. Breathe and audibly exhale with a sound of release…ahhhhhh.

The sunlight pours down from the crystal and into your arms and reaches the hands that hold the crystals. Feel the warmth and energy filling your hands.Breathe. Inhale that crystal energy and exhale.

Now imagine that warm sunlight and energy pouring down the spine. Press your back deeper into your mat, into mother earth. Ground yourself into the earth. Breathe. Inhale and exhale.

Now imagine the sunlight bathing your hips and legs with warmth. Heal your legs with this light and energy. Breathe. Inhale and exhale imagining the light from the sun seeping into the crystals above your head and in your hands, down the legs and below the feet.

Feel the sun bathing the front and back of the legs and covering the feet.

Breathe.Relax. Inhale and exhale. Enjoy the warmth.

Release the crystals from the hands. Place your hands upon the crown, breathe in and exhale out.
Place your hands under the back of the head. Breathe in and exhale.
Place hands upon the heart, listen to the heartbeat. Relax.

Place your hands upon the hips and lower back. We are grounding our energy by doing this. Continue with sides of legs and move the legs and toes.

Gently roll to your side and very gently pull yourself up. Keep your eyes closed.

Breathe in. Exhale. Shake your hands above the mat or earth. Open your eyes. Collect your crystals.

You are renewed.

Once your crystals have been selected, lie down on your mat. You can be outside in nature or inside. Place a crystal above your head with the point facing upward. Energy will be received for your crown chakra. Hold a crystal in each hand. Finally a smoky quartz crystal (for grounding) or a generator, clear or rainbow crystal at base of feet or just below where your feet will lie.
Close your eyes and relax.

Today I would like to talk about “Teaching Scripts.” Teaching Scripts guide the teacher, regardless of the class they teach, with placing a creative idea down on paper (Ha! or typed on paper) and making it come to life. At one point I was an art teacher and it really helped with me with the step by step process between creating and instructing.Since then, every type of class, Yoga, meditation, breath work and yes….even my drum class I type up a script.

Also, since I lead guided meditation classes, once I create the journey, it’s nice to type it up and save. Of course after awhile, you will memorize your words.

I also record my meditations, and copy them to upload.

Let’s practice.Image

Crystal Meditation

So look around, maybe you have some crystals or walk outside and find some beautiful rocks. Rose Quartz are nice. Crystals of course are great. You can get them on-line and in spiritual shops.Let the crystals choose you.

More to come……

Guess I have been bathed in the sounds of drums and rattles for several years.

At my class the other night, everyone chose their rattle or drum of choice. One person chose a djembe drum (a tiny baby drum I call “Chandra”) someone else chose beaded rattles. Also tambourines and Buffalo drums.I decorate my tambourines with brightly colored ribbons. I begin the drumming with a heartbeat  and go faster and faster as everyone uses their instrument and creates any sound pattern they want as they drum and rattle around themselves.

Blessings for the earth.

Drum Smudge

Namaste! This means that we honor the light in one another. Which also means that we honor and respect one another. So with that I welcome everyone. This is much like a salutation in a Yoga class at the beginning or end. I thought it would be great to write this blog as if we were in a yoga class. So first- our welcome and then go over some things that we would like to accomplish in class. Today’s topic is “Drum Smudge. ” What is a ” Drum Smudge” and how does it fit into a Yoga class? Now this Yoga class is for any age, or level because the drumming is for anyone. I teach all ages from 5 to 100. Yes, from kids to Elders! I also bring together many traditions in my classes. I mix SEVERAL cultures, and teaching styles. To smudge is to cleanse with smoke from herbs. The smoke wafts around a participant. Sage is what is usually used. Some traditions use Frankincense, and Sweet grass. Sage removes negativity and sweet grass brings in wonderful good energy. So we are dealing with energy. Usually the environment that I work in is inside of a building, and burning any sage, sweet grass and such is never allowed. With this in mind, the “Drum” becomes the healing instrument  and sends sound waves through the participant to release and break up pend in energy. So it becomes the smoke that wafts around and through the participant. My favorite drum is a “Buffalo Drum.” I had two wonderful teachers that taught me in the Native American path, and this drum was usually the one they led me with and used the most. I have a small one and a large one. I also used thin flat drums, rattles, timbrels and shakers. More about that in another post! At the end of our session or class the students lie in Savasana- on their backs on the yoga mats. I take the drum and with a drum mallet, drum around each person so that the sound pours through them and around their aura. Start at the solar plexus and up to the brow, to crown, to solar plexus and to feet and back to center. A single steady beat is good. End with beats at the center and then onto the next person. I go around the room lifting the drum while beating, and then lowering it, while also holding a rattle or tambourine. The energy is broken up and cleared. This can also be done in a seated position in a chair or standing, back and front cleansing. Take a few moments of silence and a closing blessing. I open the door or windows to let the energy release out….. Let everyone awaken back into the room. Give them water. Have them ground by placing hands on the floor before rising. More next time….
